Samrat Ranawat is the husband of Maithili Samrat Ranawat, the eldest son of Danveer Ranawat and Mohini Danveer Ranawat and the elder brother of Sumer Ranawat and Sunehri Ranawat. He is the cousin of Rangrasiya's male lead, Rudra Pratap Ranawat, making him the cousin-in-law of the female lead, Paro.

He is a loving husband to Maithili, though their marriage is overshadowed by her inability to bear children - something he doesn't hold against her, though his mother absolutely does. He is a dutiful son, apt at handling the affairs of the family business and also at handling the family finances. Samrat is the opposite to his brother, Sumer, as he is fairly quiet and reserved, and also tends to avoid confrontation as much as he can. However, he is more than willing to defend others from any perceived threat.

Arc in story[]

Samrat married Maithili 5 years prior to the events of Rangrasiya, and the two live with the rest of the Ranawat family (sans Rudra and Dilsher) in the Ranawat Haveli. He frequently leads up the business trips for the family business, and so he wasn't present when Rudra first came to the Ranawat Haveli after 15 years. Samrat's first 'major' arc in the storyline was he was trying to dissuade Maithili from talking to Mohini about adopting a child. He watched on sliently as his wife begged his mother but Mohini shot her down.

Whilst the preparations for Rudra and Paro's faux wedding were occuring, Samrat and Danveer where the ones to run into the burning Ranawat Haveli to save Dilsher Ranawat. Along with the rest of the family, he was under the assumption that Paro had tried to kill his uncle. However, he was shocked to realise that Paro wasn't resppnsible, and is under the belief that his own brother Sumer tried to kill their uncle, after Mohini hid her own evildoings by blaming them on her youngest son.

Having a thirst for business, Samrat dreamt of starting his own company - this was an unacheivable dream, however, as his mother not only riduculed him and his idea, but she also refuesd to give him the money required to start up his business. He was able to do so after Dilsher gave his astounded nephew the money that he so desperately needed and Samrat was ecstatic when the first client for his business came around. In his happiness, he brought gifts for all his family members, though his joy was somewhat marred by his mother's attitiude towards his succes - Mohini was absolutely fuming that she had no knowledge of his business venture and se also believes that he begged the money of Dilsher, due to her intense hatred of her brother-in-law.
